a.      Matthew Moreno, AAMPO’s Multimodal Transportation Planner, has been offered and accepted the position as AAMPO’s Regional Transportation Planner. Matthew joined AAMPO in 2023 as the Multimodal Transportation Planner. He has proven to be a great asset to the agency, being active in various committee and study efforts and consistently demonstrating a commitment to the goals of the agency. 

b.      AAMPO is hiring for an Executive Director. For more information, please visit https://alamoareampo.org/JoinOurTeam/Jobs/. The Executive Committee will be meeting in February to review applications and potentially conduct interviews and make a recommendation for hire to the Transportation Policy Board.

c.      There is nothing new to report on the status of the boundary area expansion. As soon as State approval is achieved, notices will be sent and new members will be seated at the various AAMPO committees and the Policy Board.

d.      Several AAMPO studies are kicking off in January and February. This includes the VIA Transit Asset Management (Shelter Assessment), Comal County Railroad Crossing Study, and the New Braunfels Connection Study.

e.      The AAMPO Freight Industry Forum is set for March 27, 2025. This forum is a key element to the Regional Freight Study effort.

f.        AAMPO offices will be closed Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of Presidents’ Day.

g.      The February 2025 Transportation Policy Board meeting will likely be cancelled.
