COVID-19 & Alamo Area Bike Month 2020

Given the extraordinary and constantly evolving impact of COVID-19 on everyday life, the League of American Cyclists and communities around the country, including the Alamo Area, are postponing promotion of Bike to Work Day 2020 to Tuesday, September 22.

But, May is (still) Bike Month, and spring is a great time to hop on a bike. Staying active by taking a walk or riding a bike is great way to boost your immune system, commute to essential jobs, relieve some stress after being cooped up inside, or the way to get much-needed exercise for our children when schools are closed. Learn how to bike ride safely amid coronavirus concerns.

If you are one of the hundreds of thousands of people who participate in National Bike Month events in typical years, we hope you'll continue to do so through virtual, solo or safely distanced events in May 2020 and beyond. Stay tuned for how the Alamo Area MPO will be celebrating Bike Month virtually.

Let us know if you will be rolling into work on two wheels for Bike to Work Day 2020!
